Responsibilities:
- Reverse-engineer surveillance pattern source code and document data pipelines, business rules, exception logic, and output schemas.
- Maintain a knowledge base of surveillance patterns across regulatory domains.
- Conduct requirements-versus-code gap analysis to identify coverage risks.
- Validate new releases by comparing production and UAT outputs and analyzing impacts.
- Build local testing environments and execute queries against sample data.
- Design multi-scenario and edge-case test cases for comprehensive coverage.
- Package release artifacts including scripts, QC results, and requirements documentation.
- Write complex queries to support investigations into surveillance exceptions.
- Perform firm-level statistical analysis and produce management reports.
- Maintain reference data sets used by downstream patterns.
- Assess data incident impacts using the surveillance pattern dependency map.
- Develop automation tools for ticket management, release documentation, and workflows.
- Create testing frameworks and interactive visualization and comparison reports.
- Leverage AI assistants to generate documentation, test frameworks, and data reports, and validate AI outputs for regulatory accuracy.
- Design structured AI workflows and maintain curated AI project workspaces.
- Manage work across project boards, track enhancements and fixes, and coordinate releases and UAT sign-off.
- Draft and update Business Requirements Documents for pattern enhancements.
- Participate in special projects, mentor analysts, track industry and regulatory trends, and champion AI-assisted workflows.
Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and 5 years in financial regulatory technology, surveillance systems, or capital markets data analysis.
- Proficiency in SQL for large-scale analysis on distributed platforms.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language for analysis and automation.
- Experience interpreting complex data processing pipelines and business logic in source code.
- Strong analytical skills to investigate data discrepancies and validate outputs.
- Excellent documentation skills to translate technical implementations into clear business documents.
- Advanced proficiency with spreadsheet tools for business and operational analysis.
- Preferred: Major in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or related; advanced degree preferred.
- Preferred: Knowledge of SEC/FINRA rules and reporting requirements.
- Preferred: Experience with distributed query engines and big data platforms.
- Preferred: Experience with project management and documentation tools and their APIs.
