What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scrum Master position at Eliassen Group?
We are seeking a Scrum Master for our financial services client to combine scrum expertise with a passion for mentoring and continuous improvement. You will work closely with a collaborative team to enhance agile practices, manage backlogs, and facilitate agile ceremonies such as daily scrums, sprint planning, and retrospectives. You will also coordinate release management and manage interdependencies across squads.
Due to client requirement, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.
Rate: $55 - $62/hr W2
Hybrid role, onsite two weeks per month (Mon-Fri) and remote two weeks per month in Smithfield, RI.
Responsibilities
- Support squad and chapter leaders in delivering the squad's mission through effective sprints.
- Enhance squad performance and efficiency by improving agile maturity and metrics.
- Maintain and update squad performance metrics for transparency and feedback.
- Manage logistics for agile events and support tool adoption (e.g., Jira, Mural).
- Collaborate with the squad leader to prioritize work according to the product roadmap.
- Identify and facilitate continuous improvement opportunities.
Experience Requirements
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent
- 4 years as a Scrum Master in Software Development Teams
- Experience with Java, Cloud-Based Technology, and Jira
- Financial services experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to coach agile practices and facilitate solutions

- Bachelor’s degree
