Scrum Master
Duration: 6 month contract with extensions
Rate: $50.00 to $57.00/hr. w2
Location: Hybrid 4 days a week in Charlotte, NC
The Scrum Master will guide agile teams and partner with Product Owners to maintain a prioritized backlog and enable delivery of high-value outcomes. The role will facilitate Scrum and Kanban ceremonies, promote self-organization and cross-functionality, and coach teams using empirical process control. It will track and analyze team metrics such as velocity, burndown, and cycle time, remove impediments, and report progress and value delivery to Business and IT leadership. The position may also serve as a Program Manager to align initiatives with the broader roadmap and support process and culture adoption for agile delivery.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Product Owner to prioritize business and technical work and maintain 2–3 sprints of ready backlog.
- Facilitate Scrum or Kanban events including Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective, Backlog Refinement, and related flow activities.
- Coach teams to be self-organizing and self-managing while reinforcing Scrum values of focus, openness, respect, courage, and commitment.
- Shield teams from external distractions and remove impediments the team cannot resolve.
- Ensure goals, scope, and Product Backlog are well understood by the team.
- Educate stakeholders and teams on empiricism and the pillars of transparency, inspection, and adaptation.
- Track and analyze metrics such as velocity, burndown, and cycle time to drive continuous improvement and report progress and value delivery to leadership.
- Serve as a Program Manager when needed to align initiatives with the business roadmap.
Experience Requirements
- 5 to 7 years of Scrum Master experience with Scrum, Kanban, and agile methodologies.
- Demonstrated coaching and mentoring as a servant leader.
- Proficient facilitation, issue resolution, and conflict management skills.
- Ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels.
- Knowledge of software development processes and agile metrics.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives and balance priorities.
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Preferred: Associate degree or up to 3 years of college or technical school in Technology, Business, or related field.
- Preferred: Professional Scrum Master certification.
Salary : $50 - $57
