Mainframe Senior Software Engineer

Onsite in either Merrimack, NC or Smithfield, RI

Our client seeks a Mainframe Senior Software Engineer to develop and maintain critical transmission components supporting bulk data sharing. The role requires collaboration with business and systems partners to deliver reliable software solutions. The engineer will contribute to modernization efforts and support a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent initiatives.

Rate: $55.00 to $60.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain mainframe software components in the transmissions domain.
• Collaborate with business and systems partners to define and deliver solutions.
• Support modernization initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
• Work across multiple efforts concurrently while meeting quality standards.
• Contribute as a constructive teammate in both in-person and virtual settings.
  
  

Experience Requirements

• 5 years of mainframe development with COBOL, DB2, JCL, and VSAM.
• Proficiency with SQL.
• Familiarity with File-AID, Easytrieve, and SPUFI (preferred).
• Experience with Agile methodologies and Jira.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a changing environment.
• Demonstrated collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to navigate organizationally to accomplish tasks.
• Experience managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
