Our client seeks a customer-focused Software Engineer to help build and operate containerized services as well as authentication and authorization platforms. The role requires hands-on collaboration with core engineering teams, leveraging CI/CD, cloud, and networking fundamentals to support high availability and scalable systems. You will contribute to service-based architectures and operational excellence through observability and automation. Your work will support reliable web security and access control for enterprise environments as you join a highly critical engineering team responsible for administering and operating enterprise-scale cloud platforms that support external-facing web and mobile applications in the financial services industry.
This team plays a foundational role in ensuring the availability, performance, and security of large-scale authentication, authorization, and traffic-routing platforms that must operate reliably in demanding, always-on environments.
You will work within a core engineering group focused on AWS cloud infrastructure, networking, and edge technologies, partnering closely with application and platform teams to keep mission-critical systems running without interruption..

Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and troubleshoot networking solutions in AWS, supporting highly available and scalable applications
- Support and maintain cloud and on‑prem networking architectures, including security controls and perimeter defenses
- Implement and manage traffic routing, CDN, and edge technologies, with strong preference for experience using Akamai
- Operate and improve CI/CD pipelines, with hands-on exposure to tools such as Jenkins
- Monitor system health using observability tools such as Splunk and/or Datadog, and respond to incidents to maintain uptime
- Partner with application and platform engineering teams to support containerized and service-based architectures
- Participate in troubleshooting efforts to identify root causes and prevent future outages
- Contribute to operational best practices, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support production cloud and network environments for externally facing enterprise applications
- Troubleshoot network connectivity, routing, and performance issues across AWS and hybrid environments
- Monitor logs, metrics, and alerts to proactively identify risks and performance degradation
- Collaborate with senior engineers on platform enhancements and automation efforts
- Support secure architectures aligned with enterprise security standards
- Work in a fast-paced, iterative environment supporting systems where uptime is critical
- 5 years of professional experience in cloud, networking, or infrastructure engineering roles
- Hands-on experience with AWS networking, including VPCs, routing, security groups, and related services
- Strong understanding of networking and security concepts, including perimeter security and DMZ-style environments
- Experience supporting or operating enterprise-grade, externally facing platforms
- Practical experience with observability tools (Splunk and/or Datadog)
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, particularly Jenkins
- Experience with Go (Golang)
- Exposure to containerized or microservices-based architectures
- Familiarity with CDN, edge, or traffic management platforms beyond Akamai
- Experience supporting high-availability systems in regulated or large-scale enterprise environments
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, or experience developing and running applications in cloud environments (preferred).
- Exposure to traffic routing, CDN, or edge technologies such as Akamai (preferred).
- Exposure to monitoring, logging, or observability tools such as Datadog or Splunk (preferred).
