Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Restoration Estimator to join our team. A Restoration Estimator is a professional responsible for assessing property damage caused by neglect, age, or events such as water, mold, or natural disasters and creating detailed cost estimates for restoration and repair. A Restoration Estimator ensures accurate project assessments, which are critical for preparing competitive bids, managing budgets, and maintaining profitability.
Restoration Estimator plays a key role in coordinating with clients, building managers, and our restoration team to ensure clear communication and efficient project execution. A skilled estimator not only helps secure contracts but also builds trust with clients by providing transparent and reliable cost projections. Their expertise directly impacts the company’s reputation, efficiency, and bottom line.
The Restoration Estimator will be responsible for evaluating projects, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects in our restoration department. This role is critical in helping the company make informed bidding and budgeting decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections to assess property damage caused by neglect, age, water, mold, or natural disasters.
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for restoration and repair projects, including labor, materials, and equipment.
- Collaborate with engineers, clients, and building managers to ensure alignment on project scope and costs.
- Create and submit competitive bids for restoration projects, adhering to company standards and client requirements.
- Document damage assessments thoroughly and maintain accurate records for project tracking.
- Stay updated on industry standards and building codes to ensure compliance.
- Communicate project timelines, budgets, and expectations clearly to clients and restoration team.
- Assist in project planning and coordinate with restoration crews to ensure smooth execution.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and visit jobsite as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor’s degree preferred in construction related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in restoration estimating or a related field.
- Knowledge of construction and restoration processes, including water and mold damage restoration.
- Ability to assess property damage accurately and develop detailed restoration scopes.
- Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with clients, building managers, and team members.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Experience in negotiating with insurance adjusters.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with restoration work in the construction industry.
- Experience with both residential and commercial construction projects.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Schedule: 8 hour shift, Monday to Friday
