Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join our team. In this vital role, you will manage day-to-day financial recordkeeping, ensure accuracy in financial data, and support the organization’s accounting functions. Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded using Sage (formerly Peachtree) accounting software
- Perform bank reconciliations regularly to verify account balances and identify discrepancies promptly
- Perform credit card reconciliations monthly to verify account balances and identify discrepancies promptly
- Data entry of A/R customer invoices using CRE (Cash Register Express) back office software.
- Data entry of A/P vendor invoices
- Paying vendor invoices using online bill pay or credit card
- Prepare journal entries, including debits & credits, to reflect financial activities accurately in the accounting system
- Inventory control - Data entry of purchases, adjustments to inventory, and new item additions to inventory using our cash register system
- Maintain several Excel spreadsheets related to inventory purchases, daily sales, and month end reporting
- Year end preparation of customer and vendor accounts
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role with strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks (including QuickBooks Online), Xero, Sage, or comparable platforms
- Demonstrated ability with Excel spreadsheets for data analysis and report writing
- Familiarity with Outlook email
- Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, account reconciliation, and financial concepts such as debits & credits
- Familiarity with tax regulations, bank reconciliation procedures, and account analysis techniques
- Excellent attention to detail along with 10 key typing skills for efficient data entry
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
Pay: From $24.00 per hour
