Branch Manager II - COPOCO powered by ELGA Credit Union - Wilder Location
Reports To: Market Leader
Classification: Exempt
Role: To direct the operations of a medium sized, remote Credit Union facility, ensuring the branch meets organizational, financial, operational, service, and growth plans. Has limited lending authority.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
30% - Underwrites consumer loans up to the amount assigned per Credit Union policy; reviews and approves underwriting decisions of subordinate personnel.
20% - Hires, reviews, schedules, trains, and monitors the work of branch personnel: conducts performance reviews; allocates resources to meet operational needs within the department; reviews and approves, denies, or modifies department recommendations from subordinates.
15% - Monitors branch operating results relative to established objectives and ensures appropriate steps are taken to correct unsatisfactory conditions.
10% - Maintains communications with main office; prepares and submits standard reports; attends scheduled management meetings.
10% - Represents the branch as appropriate in its relationships with members, sponsor organizations(s), suppliers, other financial institutions and similar groups.
5% - Controls past due and charged off accounts for the branch.
5% - Monitors all branch activities to ensure they are in compliance with established Credit Union policies and procedures.
5% - Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements:
1. To provide assistance and responses to Audits and Examination pertaining to your area of expertise. If exceptions are noted recommended remedies are acted upon immediately.
2. To achieve Branch Loan Growth goal of 20% in Loan Steals and 15% in VISA limits. While also achieving Branch Loan Product Sales of 20% MRC, 60% Gap and 70% CD/CL.
3. To achieve Branch New Account Growth goal of 80% checking penetration and 90% Reg E opt-in.
4. To complete Branch Reports by the 3rd day of the following month.
5. To achieve Branch Commercial Member Growth goal of contacting in person or calling 12 businesses per month along with participating in local Chamber of Commerce/Civic Organization meetings monthly.
6. To develop associates and manage their performance by providing them with monthly coaching sessions, timely performance reviews, documented career path, and increase productivity. Delegates duties to associates to increase their knowledge and competence. Ensures quarterly job shadows are completed.
7. To meet established expectations of ELGA's Core Factors including but not limited to Accountability, Attitude, Communication, Competence, Continuous Improvement & Innovation and Relationship Building.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: Five years to eight years of similar or related experience.
Education: (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
Interpersonal Skills: Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
Work Environment: Besides working in home branch during hours of operation, visiting local businesses, civic organizations and community events outside of operational hours are expected.
