Position Overview: Manage and coordinate the work performed at the construction site by Elford crews and subcontractors.
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintain relationships and communications with responsible individuals at the company corporate location, Sub-contractors, Design agents, and the Owners on a positive and timely basis.
- Responsible for adherence to safety standards of Elford, Inc. and all regulatory agencies.
- Follow company/corporate standard practices and/or procedures in the dealing with all parties involved in the project, to include: Company management personnel, Sub-contractors, Owners, Employees and/or Organized Labor representatives.
- Construct the project in strict accordance to plans and specifications. Plans and specification are reviewed before a task is begun.
- Monitor daily activities by on-site presence and supervision whenever work is performed.
- Construct at the pace required to meet or exceed the established construction schedule.
- Ensure all contract and specification required tests and inspections are completed in the proper sequence.
- Coordinate the flow of appropriate information, materials, equipment and personnel with the responsible individual in the company corporate office setting.
- Participate in the processes necessary to ensure the proper and timely billing of the Owner and payment of the sub-contractors.
- Supervise all other company employees assigned to the project, to include “on site” office and/or clerical support staff.
- Maintain specified standard quality control of all materials and methods of construction.
- Monitor re-work of any unsatisfactory work to ensure the repairs meet specified quality standards.
- Preview subcontractor contracts to ensure that complete scope of work is covered. Review contracts with project manager prior to bid award and final release of payment.
- Attend weekly job meeting. Coordinate preparation with project manager. Conduct job meeting in the absence of the project manager.
- Assist the Project Manager with scheduling of various short and/or long-term job site set-up, inspections and permit acquisitions.
- Attend monthly Field Operations Meetings and participate in company-sponsored training.
Education/Training
10 years in the industry, trade school, apprentice program and/or Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
Experience
Ten years plus of practical experience in the construction industry, with at least five years' experience in a superintendent/foremen role.
