Our client, a global investment firm, is seeking an experienced Assistant Vice President of Data Management to join their team in Los Angeles, CA!
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Data Management: Oversee the maintenance and continuous improvement of the firm's security master database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information for all securities.
- Quality Assurance: Lead comprehensive data validation checks to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of data from various sources. Address and resolve any discrepancies identified.
- Reporting & Automation: Direct the creation and automation of reports related to security attributes, trading activity, and data quality metrics.
- SQL Query Development: Develop and manage SQL queries for robust data extraction, aggregation, and reporting. Support and lead the development of innovative automated solutions that streamline data workflows and reporting processes.
- Data Integration: Oversee the integration of data from internal and external sources into the security master and other relevant databases.
- Process Optimization: Identify and implement best practices and process improvements in data management, enhancing operational efficiency and accuracy.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to support data management initiatives and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Qualifications:
- Must have Investment or Asset Management experience.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: Extensive experience in data management, preferably within the financial services or investment industry, with a proven track record of leading data initiatives and projects at a senior level.
- Technical Skills:
- Expert proficiency in SQL and Excel.
- In-depth familiarity with data management concepts, databases, and data integrity.
- Strong knowledge of financial markets and fixed income instruments.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in large data sets.
- Analytical Mindset: Problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Leadership: Demonstrate ability to lead data management initiatives and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Salary : $140,000 - $165,000
