Our client, a leading investment firm, is seeking a Business Manager to join their team in El Segundo, CA!

This individual will support the Head of IT, COO of Technology, and Leadership Team in driving financial planning, operational governance, and strategic execution across a complex, enterprise-scale technology organization. They will serve as a critical partner in forecasting budgets, building executive-ready presentations, evaluating project proposals, and managing key operational rhythms for the broader Technology function.

Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Budget Management

• Lead annual and multi-year budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for the Technology organization.
• Partner with Technology Directors and team leads to model spend, analyze run-rate vs. project-based costs, and track ongoing financial performance.
• Support vendor/contract review, purchase requests, accruals, and investment planning activities for infrastructure, cloud, software, and security programs.

Executive Reporting & Presentation Development

• Build executive-level decks for the CIO, Head of IT, and senior leadership, including business cases, program updates, budget summaries, and KPIs.
• Translate complex technical and financial data into clear, compelling narratives for board-level and investment-committee consumption.
• Own reporting cadences such as monthly business reviews, quarterly performance updates, and annual strategic planning materials.

Operational Governance & Project Support

• Work closely with the Head of IT and Technology Directors to evaluate project proposals, define business cases, and support approval workflows.
• Assist in prioritizing technology investments, ensuring alignment to enterprise strategy and budget constraints.
• Drive ad-hoc analysis across technology programs—resource modeling, spend analytics, ROI assessments, risk reporting, and scenario planning.
• Support program management, tracking milestones, risks, and dependencies for key strategic initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Act as a trusted partner to teams across Engineering, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Finance, Procurement, and Vendor Management.
• Coordinate information gathering across technology towers to ensure accuracy and completeness in financial and strategic reporting.
• Facilitate communication between IT leadership and business stakeholders to ensure clarity, alignment, and timely decision-making.

Qualifications

• 7 years of experience in Business Management, Technology Finance, FP&A, Strategy, or PMO within investment management, financial services, or a highly technical environment.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
• Proven experience preparing senior-level PowerPoint decks (business cases, strategy decks, KPIs).
• Ability to manage multiple ad-hoc and time-sensitive requests with precision and urgency.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; able to simplify complex technical concepts for executive stakeholders.
• High proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and preferably tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or financial planning systems.
• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with directors, managers, and technical teams to gather data and drive outcomes.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; ability to operate independently.

Pay Rate: $75.00 - $100.00/hr
