Job Summary:

Uses a Bendi forklift and handheld scanner to pull production batch tickets, process and put away production returns, put of newly received freight, and help in other areas as needed. Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site, performing any combination of following duties. Drives gasoline-, liquefied gas-, or electric-powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices, such as forklift, boom, scoop, lift beam and swivel-hook, fork-grapple, clamps, elevating platform, or trailer hitch, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials in warehouse, storage yard, or factory.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Learn how to drive Bendi forklift.
  • Have a valid driver's license and learn how to drive a box truck.
  • Pull materials from warehouse and provide to production floor in a timely manner.
  • Know how to use a calculator to figure percentages.
  • Able to lift 80 lbs on a consistent basis.
  • Familiar with computers and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Use weight and piece counting scales.
  • Ability to meet timelines and prioritize job tasks.
  • Reads work order or follows verbal instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
  • Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
  • Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area, using handtruck, electric dolly, wheelbarrow, or other device.
  • Lifts heavy objects by hand or using poser hoist, and cleans work area, machines, and equipment, using broom, rags, and cleaning compounds, to assist machine operators.
  • Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus.
  • Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials and transports load to designated area.
  • Unloads and stacks material by rising and lowering lifting device.
  • May inventory materials on work floor, and supply workers with materials as needed.
  • May weigh materials or products and record weight on tags, labels, or production schedules.
  • May lubricate truck, recharge batteries, fill fuel tank, or replace liquefied-gas tank.
  • Data entry of transactions on computer system.
  • Put away all new freight.
  • Must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation without posing a direct threat to the individual or others.
  • Assist in cycle counting of inventory as required.

Knowledge & Skills

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Count materials quickly and accurately and enter information into handheld computer.
  • Communicate well with coworkers verbally and in writing.
  • Operate calculator and know how to use a handheld scanner.
  • Able to lift minimum of 80 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Work with minimum supervision.
  • Operate heavy equipment including forklift, box truck, and genie lift.
  • Perform essential duties and responsibilities efficiently, accurately and safely.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Mastery of basic math.
  • Read and write English fluently.
  • Valid US Driver's License.
  • Must be fork lift certified.
  • Must have computer skills.
  • Must be able to lift.

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 or more years of warehouse experience
  • Experience with Bendi forklift
  • Familiarity with the following would be a plus:
    • Handheld Scanner
    • Computer Terminal
    • Calculator/10-key Calculator
    • Copy Machine
    • Digital Camera
    • Fork lift
    • Pallet Jack
    • Automatic Pallet Wrapper

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand
  • Occasionally/frequently required to walk
  • Regularly use hands to finger, handle or feel
  • Regularly reach with hands and arms
  • Occasionally/frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Work Environment

  • Regularly required to work in areas where chemical materials are encountered
  • Regularly required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment
  • May involve exposure to shop environment including variable noise levels
  • Must customarily have a high consciousness for personnel and equipment safety
