ELID - Maintenance Tech

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Tech will upkeep, repair, and handle preventative actions on all aspects of machinery, buildings, and facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Set up, operate, troubleshoot, modify, maintain through preventative maintenance, and repair all production equipment and machinery. Specifically, tube filling, hot pour, monobloc filling, Lot Code printers, Labeling equipment, single head and multi head filling equipment, automated Capping equipment and Case Taping equipment.
• Sets machinery per set up guides up to properly fill containers to required weight, ensures caps meet torque specifications, labeling, lot code, packaging, and adjust as needed to machinery to meet production job requirements.
• Able to set up, clean and change over machinery quickly from one product to another per set up guide timeline expectations.
• Set stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or manufacturing standards.
• Read production job specification sheet to ensure the correct components are being used for the job and determines machine adjustments to put in the correct dosage of product.
• Must be able to work independently with little supervision.
• Understand programming and PLC trouble shooting.
• Search for and identify equipment part numbers to perform repairs on machinery.
• Train Line Operators on new equipment.

Knowledge & Skills:

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

• Read, interpret, understand, and generate, technical manuals, blueprints, schematic diagrams and computer input and output diagrams.
• Work safely on ladders and in forklift safety platforms.
• Work safely with all power and hand tools.
• Work with computers as related to operation of PLC controlled machinery.
• Perform essential duties and responsibilities efficiently, accurately, and safely.
• Must pass tests to qualify on Machine testing.

• Locate sources for parts and supplies.
• Understand and explain to others, proper and safe sequence of operation on various machinery.
• Identify and take appropriate action on plant safety issues and concerns.

• Milling Machine/Lathe
• Welding (TIG/MIG)
• Fabrication skills
• Electrical troubleshooting

Machines Operated:

• Forklifts
• All production floor machinery
• Single and multiple head liquid fillers
• Automatic tube fillers and sealers
• Labeling equipment
• Ink jet encoders
• Heat shrinking and bundling equipment
• Automatic capping equipment
• Electrical/mechanical transfer pumps
• Pipe threader
• Drill press
• Grinders ET AL

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1 years mechanic experience preferred
• 1 years working in manufacturing environment preferred
• Prior maintenance experience or related education (Physical, Mechanical or Electrical engineering) very helpful
• Ability to read, write, and speak English

Physical/Mental Demands:

• Routinely lift 75-100 pounds.
• Regularly required to stand
• Occasionally/frequently required to walk
• Regularly use hands to finger, handle or feel
• Regularly reach with hands and arms
• Occasionally/frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
• Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Work Environment:

• Regularly required to work in areas where chemical materials are encountered.
• Manufacturing setting with moving machinery
• Regularly required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment
• May involve exposure to shop environment including variable noise levels
