Job Summary:

Weighs out raw materials and mixes them in appropriate mixing vessels in the order and amounts listed on the batch ticket.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accurately weighs and records amounts and lot #'s of specified raw materials.
  • Combines specific raw materials into processing vessels and mixes them according to the instructions on the batch ticket.
  • Submits finished product samples and assembles all necessary paperwork to the Q.C. lab for testing.
  • Transfers finished product from the processing vessel to a holding vessel after Q.C. approval is given.
  • Submits finished batch ticket to Compounding Supervisor/Manager for review and raw material relief from inventory.
  • Cleans work area and prepares for the next batch to be made.
  • Must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation without posing a direct threat to the individual or others.
  • Cleans and verifies cleanliness of all equipment and utensils.
  • Verifies accuracy of other Compounders' work (quantities, unit of measure, lot numbers, location, processing steps, ingredient addition to batch, etc.)
  • Puts away raw materials used.
  • Assists in cycle counting of inventory as required.

Knowledge & Skills:

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Must be able to move drums weighing in excess of 500# on a regular basis.
  • Write legibly and record numbers accurately.
  • Communicate verbally and/or in writing discrepancies in lot number amounts or locations.
  • Ability to learn and operate valves for steam and water on process vessels for heating and cooling of batches.
  • Able to lift minimum of 80 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Must pass forklift certifications test and operate forklift in a safe manner.
  • Work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to issue ingredients in Syteline/Crux.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Communicate well with other compounders, supervisor, material handlers and manager as to
  • needs for raw materials.
  • Communicate with lab personnel, supervisor, and Compounding Manager on issues regarding out of spec. batches.
  • Communicate with quality control lab personnel about testing needs.

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English

Physical/Mental Demands:

  • Regularly required to stand
  • Occasionally/frequently required to walk
  • Regularly use hands to finger, handle or feel
  • Regularly reach with hands and arms
  • Occasionally/frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

Work Environment

  • Regularly required to work in areas where chemical materials are encountered
  • Regularly required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment
  • May involve exposure to shop environment including variable noise levels
  • Must customarily have a high consciousness for personnel and equipment safety
