Security Guard (Cannabis Dispensary) – Part-Time Evenings
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Schedule: Thursday & Friday | 5:00 PM – 2:00 AM
Pay: $22 per hour
Elevation HQ is seeking a professional, customer-focused Security Guard to join our team. As the first person our customers interact with, you will play a critical role in creating a welcoming, safe, and compliant environment while protecting staff, customers, and company assets.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers professionally and provide excellent customer service.
- Verify all customer identification in accordance with New York State and OCM regulations.
- Monitor entry and exit points to ensure only authorized individuals enter the premises.
- Identify and refuse entry to individuals who are visibly intoxicated, impaired, disruptive, or otherwise not permitted to enter under state regulations.
- Monitor customer behavior and maintain a safe environment for staff and guests.
- Enforce store policies and security procedures consistently and professionally.
- Conduct regular security checks of the facility and surrounding areas.
- Assist management with incident reporting and documentation when necessary.
- Maintain a strong security presence while remaining approachable and customer-focused.
- Take out garbage and recycling at designated times and assist with maintaining a clean exterior storefront.
- Support basic closing duties to help ensure the facility is secure and presentable for the next business day.
- Communicate effectively with management and staff regarding security concerns.
Requirements
- Previous security, loss prevention, hospitality, customer service, or related experience preferred.
- Excellent observation and situational awareness skills.
- Strong communication and conflict resolution abilities.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and professional.
- Must be comfortable standing for extended periods.
- Must be able to work late-night hours and participate in closing procedures.
- Must be able to distinguish when customers are impaired, intoxicated, or otherwise unsuitable for entry.
- Must be willing to learn and follow all New York State cannabis regulations and OCM security requirements.
- Security Guard License required as well as 3 years in a retail security role.
