Marketing & Brand Manager – Elevation HomeBuilders & Ivy & Gray Design Co.
Elevation HomeBuilders is a custom home builder, remodeler, and design firm in Iowa City, founded in 2017. Our sister brand, Ivy & Gray Design Co., focuses on interior design, furnishing, and styling. We build and design homes that look as good in photos as they do in person — and we are hiring one creative, organized person to make sure the world sees them.
This is a hands-on, in-house role. You will own marketing for both brands: social media, paid ads, SEO, photography, video, email newsletters, mailers, and our websites. You'll report directly to leadership and have real ownership over what our brands look like online and in print.
What You'll Do
Social Media
• Plan, write, schedule, and post content for both brands across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Houzz.
• Launch and grow new accounts on Pinterest, X, and TikTok.
• Maintain two distinct brand voices — Elevation (build) and Ivy & Gray Design Co. (design).
• Grow followers and engagement; respond to DMs, comments, and reviews.
Paid Advertising
• Build and optimize Google Ads campaigns (search, display, local).
• Run paid social campaigns on Meta and LinkedIn.
• Manage budgets, A/B test creative, and report on results.
• Track metrics: spend, clicks, conversions, qualified leads, consultations booked, contracts signed, and revenue from those contracts.
SEO & Local Search
• Improve organic Google rankings through on-page SEO and content.
• Maintain Google Business Profiles, Houzz, and other directory listings.
• Track keyword positions, traffic, and conversions.
Photography & Video
• Visit job sites and finished homes to capture photos and video.
• Edit photos and video (Reels, walkthroughs, testimonials, project highlights).
• Maintain an organized library of brand assets.
Email & Newsletters
• Write and send a recurring newsletter for Elevation HomeBuilders using ActiveCampaign.
• Write and send a separate recurring newsletter for Ivy & Gray Design Co. using ActiveCampaign.
• Manage email lists, segments, and automations in ActiveCampaign; track opens, clicks, and conversions.
Websites
• Keep both brand websites current — projects, services, blog posts, images.
• Make sure both sites stay fast, mobile-friendly, and SEO-clean.
Design Support & Drafting
• Work alongside our interior designers on day-to-day design tasks — research, mood boards, finish boards, sourcing, and presentation prep.
• Produce drafting and drawings to support designers, including space plans, elevations, and finish layouts.
• Take on light design work as skill and bandwidth allow (selections, styling concepts, mood boards for client review).
• Keep design files, sample libraries, and project folders organized and current.
Event Planning
• Plan and run brand events, including open houses, Parade of Homes appearances, wine and social events, client appreciation parties, and partner showcases.
• Coordinate venue, catering, invitations, RSVPs, signage, and on-site logistics.
• Promote events across social media, email, and printed mailers; capture photo and video at events for follow-up content.
Shipping & Receiving
• Help track shipping and receiving of packages — vendor orders, materials, samples, and client deliveries.
• Log incoming shipments, flag delays, and follow up with vendors on missing or damaged items.
• Coordinate with the project team so the right items get to the right job sites on time.
Strategy
• Build a quarterly marketing plan covering social, ads, email, mailers, content, and events.
• Set goals and report monthly to leadership.
Job duties are subject to change by supervisor.
Qualifications
• 2 years of marketing experience (small business, agency, or in-house).
• Strong writing skills and a sharp eye for brand voice.
• Comfortable with a camera and confident editing photo and video (Lightroom, Premiere, CapCut, or equivalents).
• Working knowledge of Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, and Google Analytics / Search Console.
• Experience updating websites in Webflow or other website design platforms.
• Familiarity with email marketing platforms such as ActiveCampaign.
• Highly organized and able to juggle two brands, multiple deadlines, and event logistics.
• Genuine interest in homes, design, and construction.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for local site visits.
Bonus Points For
• Experience in home building, remodeling, real estate, or interior design.
• Graphic design skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
• Drone photography (FAA Part 107 a plus).
• Proven local SEO results.
• Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere, Illustrator) and other professional editing software.
• Event planning or project management experience.
• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field.
• Degree or coursework in interior design.
• Coursework or background in photography, visual arts, or design.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD (or similar drafting software like SketchUp, Revit, or Chief Architect).
• Hands-on drafting or drawing experience — space plans, elevations, or finish layouts.

Time Off & Holidays
Vacation
• 10 vacation days, accessible in advance on the 1st of each year (accrual rate of 6.66 hours per month).
• For mid-year starts, vacation is based on the number of full months left in the calendar year × 6.66 hours.
• Vacation can only be used in the same calendar year.
• Vacation must be approved by your manager at least two weeks prior to the requested date.
