JOB DESCRIPTIONSales Associates are responsible for executing on our promise to deliver legendary customer service for all our customers. This includes but is not limited to: assisting customers through various channels (phone, in-person and online), stocking merchandise, performing daily cleaning tasks, cash handling, and contributing to team goals. Some Sales Associates may have primary responsibilities that differ from others, depending on the specific needs of the business. This may include a primary focus on register duties with less time spent on the sales floor, or vice versa.Customer Service StandardsDeliver exceptional customer service by getting to a “yes” for all reasonable customer requests. If you are unsure how to get to a “yes,” seek further guidance from a supervisor or MOD to resolve the request. Provide proactive, WOW customer service to all customers that enter or call our store. Every customer, every time (E.C.E.T) should be approached in a friendly and courteous manner throughout the shopping experience. These areas include but are not limited to: (a) in-aisle assistance; (b) special services, basic paint/stain mixing, cutting keys, glass, plexi-glass, chain, wire, pipe and lumber, and filling and/or exchanging propane; (c) accepting customer items for repairs, screen orders and sharpening services by completing the necessary forms; (d) offering special orders for items the store does not stock or is currently out of stock on; (e) processing requests at the register such as purchases, returns, on-line orders and customer carry outs.Awareness of active and upcoming promotional items and sales flyers to drive sales opportunities with our customers. Ability to run basic transactions at the register and is ready to assist in backup situations to keep checkout lines short.Department Maintenance Accountability for store maintenance which includes but is not limited to: shifting products to the front of the peg or shelf and rotating stock (front and facing), overall store cleanliness (base decks, fixtures, product, restrooms, breakrooms, floors), monitoring and managing “out of stock” levels, verifying and updating bin tags, repairing damaged product packaging, ensuring uniform peg lengths within a 4’ section, proper display construction and placement and returning items to their correct location.Relocate items only after the Inventory Coordinator or a manager has authorized the move.When stocking shelves, ensure items are placed on their designated pegs or properly faced on the shelf. When stocking new product, correctly merchandised in place, accurately located and appropriately tagged.
