Direct Support Professional (Residential Counselor)

Job Summary
Elevating Generations is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide supervision and support to adolescents (ages 12–18) in a Level III residential treatment setting.
This position plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, structured, and trauma-informed environment while helping youth build life skills, improve behaviors, and achieve stability.
Responsibilities
- Provide 24/7 supervision and support to residents
- Maintain a safe, clean, and structured living environment
- Assist with daily routines, life skills, and personal development
- Support youth with emotional regulation and behavior management
- Utilize de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques
- Complete daily logs, progress notes, and incident reports
- Transport residents to school, appointments, and activities (as needed)
- Follow all agency policies and NC DHHS regulations
- Maintain appropriate supervision ratios at all times
Qualifications
Required:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
- Ability to pass background check - Some Felonies Accepted
Preferred:
- Experience with at-risk youth, mental health, or residential care
- CPR/First Aid certification ( can obtain after hire)
- Crisis intervention or de-escalation training (can obtain after hire)

Pay & Schedule
- $15.00 – $17.50 per hour (based on experience)
- Flexible scheduling:
- Day shifts
- Evening shifts
- Overnight shifts
- Weekend availability required
Work Setting
- Residential group home
- Direct interaction with adolescents in a behavioral health setting
- May require standing, monitoring, and responding to crisis situations
