Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Arborist Climber to join our team at Elevated Tree Care & North Hills Tree Service. This role is ideal for a safety-focused professional with strong climbing ability and a deep understanding of arboriculture practices. You will play a key role in performing technical tree work, supporting crew operations, and ensuring high-quality service on residential, commercial, and utility projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced tree climbing (DdRT/SRT) for pruning, removals, and technical rigging operations
- Safely execute all aspects of arboriculture, including:
- Tree identification and species knowledge
- Tree risk assessments
- Structural pruning and canopy management
- Tree removals and storm damage work
- Cabling, bracing, and support systems
- Prune and remove trees near utilities, structures, and other sensitive targets
- Remove hazardous limbs from utility lines, roofs, and obstructed areas
- Operate and maintain equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, and rigging gear
- Work collaboratively with crew members and assist Crew Leaders in job execution
- Maintain strict adherence to safety standards, company policies, and industry best practices
- Inspect and prepare gear, tools, and equipment before and after use
Qualifications
- 2 years of professional tree climbing experience (DdRT and/or SRT preferred)
- Experience with aerial lift operation and advanced rigging techniques
- Strong knowledge of ANSI standards and proper pruning practices
- Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license required (CDL preferred)
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to safety
- Passion for arboriculture, the environment, and outdoor work
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive pay based on experience and skill level, starting at $32/hr
- Full-time position (40 hours per week)
