HOUSEKEEPING SUPERVISOR JOB SUMMARY:

Performs routine duties in cleaning and servicing guest rooms and public areas. Trains and supervises all Room Attendants to promote a positive image of the property to guests and must be able to address guest requests and problems. Works with management to keep a correct inventory of clean/ ready and dirty rooms. Provides communication to Maintenance of any required repair to rooms as well as semi-annual deep clean and preventative maintenance. Establishes and keeps inventory of cleaning supplies, linens/ terry, and guest amenities. Maintains and shows a customer focus with all guests, addresses questions, resolves complaints, helps the hotel keep an extremely high customer satisfaction rating.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Maintain the hotel’s rooms and building to ensure a safe and clean experience for hotel guests, associates, and visitors.
  • Set up a housekeeping cart with supplies. Maintains carts and storerooms in a clean and orderly fashion to enhance efficiency and ease of cleaning rooms.
  • Clean and wipe down doors, walls, closets, and fixtures in rooms, public areas, and hallways.
  • Wash shower walls and tub, cleans toilets and bathroom walls. Wipes exposed pipes, clean mirrors, sinks, and floors to have clean and sanitary guest and public restrooms.
  • Replace towels, soaps, and all other room amenities and restock ligature that has been removed by earlier guests, or is soiled or torn, to ensure adequate supply for arriving guests.
  • Wash all hard floor areas by hand to remove dirt and soiled areas.
  • Dust and polish all furniture, fixtures, and wall hangings.
  • Strip beds off all linens, and remake with fresh linens.
  • Check the closet for cleanliness, wiping door, handle and overhead shelves and restocking the guest room supplies.
  • Vacuum rooms, public areas, and hallways.
  • Inspect door and window locks to ensure they are in working order and at once alert management to an unsecure or unsafe situation for the safety of guests and employees.
  • Check lights and remotes to ensure all are in working order.
  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor always.
  • Immediately reports any safety issues to management to be addressed.
  • Establishes and keeps inventory for cleaning supplies, linens/ terry, and guest amenities.
  • Oversees scheduling based on occupancy needs.
  • Supervises cleaning staff, inspects rooms and provides feedback and training opportunities.
  • Checks rooms and common areas, including stairways and lounge areas for cleanliness.
  • Oversees laundry operations and linen / terry processing.
  • Maintains par levels of linen and terry for guest rooms.
  • Works with the hotel manager to provide annual reviews and recommendations for team members.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies in all areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Basic knowledge of general cleaning principles, use of cleaning products, operationof standard cleaning equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of laundry operations, processing, and par standards.
  • Ability to scrub and scour surfaces,extendingarms over head, bending, and stooping to perform cleaning tasks.
  • Ability to push and/or pull equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Works to communicate effectively with guests and associates.
  • Ability toworka flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • The ability to positively manage team members and keep a team spirit.
  • Basic inventorymanagement,buying methods.
  • Scheduling oflabor to occupancy and semiannual deep cleaning.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Maintain basic records for labor,inventoryandpurchasing.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Adheres to federal, state, and local laws and regulationsregardingfair housing guidelines, and employment related laws and regulations.
  • Performs duties in all aspects of hotel operations whenever needed, write, and correspond with outside business.
  • Ability toutilizethe property management system technology, requires the ability to work through all reportingperformaudits as needed.
  • Ability to organize multiple priorities to ensure that daily operations are performed at peak efficiency.
  • Actively reviews andmonitorsthe social media websites to ensuretimelyandappropriate responsesto postings, reviews, and comments.
  • Possess excellent organizational and team management skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position requires the ability to stand and walk or sit alternatively depending on the specific needs of the day.
  • Occasional need to bend/stoop/squat, climb stairs, push, or pull, and reach above shoulder (cleaning up litter, open doors, pick up and move items)
  • Ability to lift/move/push/pull up to 50 lbs. on occasion, frequent need to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.

Experience level:

    • 2 years minimum
    • Prior Hotel/Hospitality/Extended Stay experience required.
    • Prior supervisory experience
    • Demonstrated leadership ability

Schedule:

    • Tuesday-Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., unless otherwise determined based on needs of the business
    • Overtime
    • Weekends as needed
