Position Overview
The HVAC Installation Manager oversees all installation operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to company quality standards. This role manages installation technicians, coordinates scheduling, supports field operations, and maintains strong customer satisfaction. The Installation Manager plays a key role in training, workflow planning, and driving operational excellence within the installation department.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Team Leadership & Management
- Directly supervise HVAC installation technicians and leads.
- Conduct daily/weekly team meetings to review workload, priorities, and safety topics.
- Provide coaching, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Assist with recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new installation team members.
Project & Workflow Coordination
- Plan, schedule, and assign installation jobs to ensure timely completion.
- Review job scopes, equipment, and materials prior to installation.
- Coordinate with sales, warehouse, and service departments for smooth job flow.
- Resolve on-site issues and offer technical guidance to installers as needed.
Quality Control & Safety
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with company standards, codes, and manufacturer specifications.
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure technicians follow proper procedures.
- Implement best practices to improve installation efficiency and quality.
Training & Development
- Provide hands-on technical training for installers on equipment, tools, and best practices.
- Develop skill-building plans for junior technicians to advance within the team.
- Conduct training on new products and installation techniques.
Operational & Administrative Duties
- Manage installation department budgets, timecards, and resource allocation.
- Track job progress, equipment usage, and labor costs to ensure profitability.
- Maintain accurate documentation, job notes, and reports using company software.
- Review and approve installation checklists and job closeout documents.
Inventory & Equipment Management
- Ensure installation teams have proper tools, materials, and equipment.
- Coordinate with the warehouse for ordering and stocking installation supplies.
- Oversee maintenance and calibration of company-issued tools and vehicles.
Qualifications
- 5 years of HVAC installation experience; leadership or foreman experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, installation best practices, and local codes.
- Excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- EPA certification; state licensing preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80, $140,000.00 per year
