An Elevate platform firm is seeking an experienced Business Tax Preparer to join our growing tax team. This role is responsible for preparing and reviewing business tax returns, supporting tax compliance engagements, and assisting clients with federal and state tax reporting requirements.

Overview

The ideal candidate has experience working with closely held businesses and pass-through entities, possesses strong technical and organizational skills, and is committed to delivering exceptional client service. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare federal and state business tax returns, including Forms 1065, 1120-S, and 1120.
• Prepare extensions, estimated tax payments, and related compliance filings.
• Compile, organize, and analyze client financial information for accurate and timely tax return preparation.
• Prepare tax workpapers and supporting schedules in accordance with firm standards.
• Work directly with clients to obtain required information and resolve outstanding tax matters.
• Prepare business tax returns for clients across a variety of industries, including biotechnology, software and technology, construction, real estate, professional services, healthcare, manufacturing, and consulting.
• Assist with multi-state tax filings and compliance requirements.
• Research basic to intermediate federal and state tax issues and communicate findings to managers and partners.
• Support business owners and management teams by identifying potential tax savings opportunities and areas of concern.
• Assist with responses to federal and state tax notices, audits, and correspondence.
• Collaborate with managers, directors, and partners to ensure engagements are completed accurately and on time.
• Stay current on tax law changes and industry developments affecting clients.
• Utilize firm technology and tax software to improve efficiency, accuracy, and the overall client experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• CPA license or progress toward CPA certification preferred.
• 2-5 years of public accounting tax experience preferred.
• Experience with CCH Axcess, Claude, BlackOre, and Aiwyn is a plus but not required.
• Experience preparing partnership, S corporation, and corporate tax returns.
• Knowledge of federal and state tax compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with pass-through entities and closely held businesses.
• Experience with multi-state taxation is preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
• Proficiency with tax preparation and accounting software.
