The Opportunity
The Company is hiring a Controller to step into a key finance leadership role at its Wilsonville operation. This is a succession-driven opportunity tied to the long-term transition of a tenured accounting leader who has been with the business for more than 20 years and is moving toward retirement.
This role is designed for a hands-on accounting leader who can oversee day-to-day financial operations, strengthen reporting and controls, support costing and inventory analysis, and bring structure to a manufacturing environment that depends on accuracy, discipline, and sound decision-making. The Controller will report directly to the General Manager and work closely with operational leadership, office staff, and IT.

The current Controller has been with the business for two decades and is approaching retirement. The Company is looking to bring in a finance leader who can provide oversight, continuity, and long-term leadership for the accounting function.
Reporting Structure
Reports to: General Manager
Will oversee: Current Controller and office staff supporting operational accounting activities
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Lead the accounting and finance function for the business unit
- Own month-end and year-end close processes, with a focus on timely and accurate financial reporting
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and trial balance activity
- Oversee billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition
- Prepare monthly financial statements and deliver reporting, analysis, and insight to leadership
- Monitor inventory activity, reserves, and cost movements on a monthly basis
- Coordinate the annual unit costing process and provide analysis on cost changes over time
- Review standard costing, variance analysis, internal control compliance, and expense control processes
- Develop, refine, and enforce accounting policies, financial procedures, and internal controls
- Support internal and external audits and maintain the accuracy of recorded financial data
- Partner with IT to support and improve systems needed to run the business effectively
- Maintain compliance with GAAP and applicable local, state, and federal requirements
- Support tax planning, regulatory reporting, and general financial compliance
- Communicate financial results and business insights clearly across functional teams
- Contribute to process improvement efforts that create better efficiency and stronger control safeguards
- Support training and development across finance and accounting-related responsibilities as needed
What They’re Looking For
- 5-10 years of progressive accounting or finance experience
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred
- Strong background in cost accounting, inventory accounting, and financial reporting
- Solid working knowledge of GAAP and financial controls
- Ability to lead accounting operations while staying close to the details
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making ability
- Proven leadership capability and sound people management skills
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working in ERP/MRP environments
- High attention to detail and a practical, results-focused approach
Preferred Education / Credentials
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- CPA or CMA preferred, but not required
Systems / Tools
- Abas ERP preferred experience
- Microsoft Office Suite, with strong emphasis on Excel
- Experience working with integrated financial and MRP systems
