RAD Curbside is seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Afton, WY. This position plays a critical role in maintaining and repairing our fleet of trash collection trucks, roll-off trucks, semi tractors, trailers, and waste hauling equipment from our fully equipped 8,000 sq. ft. heated shop.We’re looking for a dependable, safety-focused mechanic with strong diagnostic and repair experience who takes pride in keeping equipment operating efficiently and reliably. - Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on fleet vehicles and equipment

Diagnose and repair:
- Diesel and gas engines
- Hydraulic systems
- Electrical systems
- Pneumatic systems
- Mechanical components

Complete major overhauls and general repairs on:
- Trash collection trucks
- Roll-off trucks
- Semi tractors and trailers
- Waste hauling equipment
- Use our fleet maintenance software to schedule and record repairs, request parts and schedule preventative maintenance
- Assist with field repairs and emergency maintenance when needed
- Maintain accurate maintenance and inspection records
- Ensure fleet vehicles meet DOT and safety standards
- Support operational readiness for next-day collection routes
- Operating trash collection trucks, roll-off trucks, and semi trucks with 53’ trailers
- Acting as backup support for commercial recycling, commercial trash, and residential collection routes
- Participating in on-call rotation and emergency response as needed
- 6 years of heavy-duty mechanic experience

Strong background in:
- Hydraulic repair
- Field service repair
- Truck and equipment repair
- Utility or vocational fleet maintenance
- Diesel and gas engine diagnostics and repair
- Hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems
- DOT inspections and compliance
- OSHA, DOT, and transportation safety regulations
- Preventative maintenance practices
- Diagnose and repair issues independently in both shop and field settings
- Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics
- Work independently and as part of a team
- Communicate effectively and prioritize safety in all situations
- Trash truck fleet maintenance experience
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Personal mechanic tools
- Commercial Brake Certification
- Valid DOT Medical Card (or ability to obtain before hire)

Valid CDL with acceptable driving record
OR ability to obtain CDL within 90 days of hire
- High school diploma or GED required

Vocational training in Diesel or Automotive Technology preferred
or equivalent industry experience
- Heavy manual labor
- Working around noise, dust, fumes, and tight spaces
- Climbing, kneeling, crawling, crouching, lifting, and working at heights
- Lifting and carrying parts up to 50 lbs
- Frequent use of power tools and vehicle controls
- Functional Capacity Assessment (FCA)
- DOT physical examination
- Post-offer/pre-placement probationary period
This role may require:
- Occasional travel
- Early morning or evening on-call availability
- Emergency response outside of normal business hours
