Elevate Health & Therapeutic Services is seeking a Lead Occupational Therapist to provide both direct clinical care and leadership for our growing OT department. This role is ideal for an experienced clinician who enjoys coaching others, maintaining high clinical standards, and helping develop an exceptional team while continuing to carry a meaningful pediatric caseload.

You'll serve as the clinical resource for our Occupational Therapy team, helping onboard new therapists, mentor junior clinicians, promote evidence-based practice, and ensure documentation quality across the department.

Position Overview

This position combines direct patient care with clinical leadership responsibilities.

Approximately 70–80% of your time will involve providing pediatric occupational therapy services, while the remaining portion will focus on mentoring clinicians, quality assurance, onboarding, and supporting departmental growth.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive pediatric occupational therapy evaluations
  • Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
  • Provide engaging, child-centered therapy sessions
  • Address fine motor, visual motor, sensory processing, executive functioning, handwriting, self-care, emotional regulation, feeding, and play skills
  • Educate parents and caregivers through practical home programming
  • Collaborate closely with Speech, PT, ABA, AAC, and Feeding teams
  • Maintain timely, accurate documentation

Leadership Responsibilities

As the Lead OT, you will help establish and maintain clinical excellence across the department by:

  • Mentoring and supporting Occupational Therapists throughout onboarding and beyond
  • Providing clinical guidance for complex cases and treatment planning
  • Assisting with orientation and clinical training for newly hired therapists
  • Conducting regular SOAP note and documentation audits to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance
  • Providing constructive feedback and coaching to support clinician growth
  • Helping maintain departmental clinical standards and best practices
  • Assisting with competency development and continuing education initiatives
  • Collaborating with leadership on departmental workflows and quality improvement projects
  • Promoting consistency in evaluations, goal writing, documentation, and treatment approaches
  • Serving as a clinical resource for interdisciplinary collaboration

Qualifications

Required:

  • Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy
  • Current New Jersey Occupational Therapy License
  • Minimum of 3 years of pediatric Occupational Therapy experience
  • Demonstrated experience treating a wide range of pediatric diagnoses
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and leadership abilities

This position requires at least two evenings per week, with clinic hours extending until 7:00 PM.
