## Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist a dermatologist in providing excellent care in an outpatient setting.
## Duties
- Greet and check in patients
- Escort patients to exam rooms, take a complete medical history and document history and chief complaint(s) in electronic medical record
- Serve as medical scribe: document the physical exam, assessment and plan; write and send prescriptions through the EMR
- Assist in minor skin surgical procedures (skin biopsy, skin surgery) and cosmetic procedures (Botox, fillers)
- Take photographs of patients and biopsy sites using iPad
- Explain treatment plan to patients, write down instructions for patients
- Clean exam rooms, ensure rooms are fully stocked with needed supplies, clean and sterilize medical instruments, order medical supplies as needed
- Assist with prior authorizations, return patient phone calls- Answer office phone, register patients and make patient appointments
## Requirements
- Certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred
- Great opportunity for gap year students
- Experience working in dermatology is a plus -Spanish speaking preferred
- Outgoing personality, able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced clinical environment, able to work well as part of a team, committed to providing excellent patient care
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
