Position Summary

The Controller is responsible for the oversight, accuracy, and integrity of all accounting operations and financial reporting for Elevate Construction Partnership, LLC. This role ensures strong internal controls, disciplined processes, and reliable financial data to support decision-making and company growth.


Working closely with and reporting directly to the VP of Finance, the Controller leads the monthly close process, oversees job costing and project financial performance, and maintains visibility into cash flow and working capital. The Controller also supervises the Accounting Coordinator and provides oversight of administrative and H.R. coordination activities, while contributing to process improvement and operational efficiencies across the organization.


Core Responsibilities

·        Lead accounting operations and financial reporting

·        Manage monthly, quarterly, annual close processes

·        Oversee job costing, WIP reporting, and profitability analysis

·        Manage cash flow and approve disbursements

·        Ensure working capital and operating cash targets are prioritized

·        Maintain internal controls and accounting procedures

·        Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

·        Recommend and implement improvements related to internal procedures


Leadership & Management Responsibilities

·        Supervise Accounting & Administrative Coordinator

·        Oversee A/P, A/R

·        Manage payroll and statement reconciliations

·        Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of all accounting and financial processes


Administrative Oversight

·        Assist with H.R. and Admin coordination activities

·        Communicate with external H.R. Consultant as needed

·        Manage payroll and benefits-related costs

·        Support I.T. systems and vendor evaluation

·        Assist with retirement plan activities and paperwork requirements


Construction-Specific Financial Oversight

·        Manage company financials processes, WIP schedules, and revenue recognition

·        Monitor project profit margins and identify risks

·        Ensure accurate subcontractor cost tracking

·        Lead monthly cost review processes with project managers

·        Manage vendor payments terms by project to ensure timely payments


Risk Mitigation

·        Manage annual insurance audits and renewals

·        Manage insurance claims

·        Manage vendor pre-qualification software system and vetting processes

·        Ensure contractual obligations are met prior to vendor payments release

·        Communicate with broker on business needs and insurance coverage change requests

Qualifications

·        Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field

·        5–10 years’ experience, construction preferred

·        Strong job costing and financial reporting knowledge

·        Proficiency in accounting software systems and Excel


Physical Requirements

Ability to perform typical office activities, including prolonged sitting, computer use, and occasional lifting of office materials (up to 20 pounds).
