Role Description The Superintendent is a full-time, on-site role based in Miami, FL, responsible for managing day-to-day construction activities on assigned projects. This role oversees site operations, coordinates subcontractors and vendors, and ensures work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with plans and specifications. The Superintendent monitors quality control, conducts regular site inspections, and maintains accurate documentation such as daily logs, safety reports, and progress updates. The role collaborates closely with project managers, design teams, and inspectors, facilitating clear communication and timely issue resolution. The Superintendent also leads on-site safety efforts, enforces company policies, and supports project closeout, punch lists, and turnover to clients.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent or similar on-site leadership role managing commercial or multifamily projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, safety regulations, and reading/interpreting plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
- Ability to coordinate subcontractors and vendors, manage schedules, and maintain detailed daily reports and documentation.
- Demonstrated commitment to jobsite safety, including implementing safety plans, conducting toolbox talks, and enforcing OSHA standards.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with project managers, design professionals, inspectors, and clients.
- Proficiency with construction management software, MS Office, and digital tools for scheduling, reporting, and document control.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced field environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field preferred.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR, PMP or similar) are beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site full time in Miami, FL, including occasional extended hours as project needs require.
