Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Provides front and/or back office support.
- Greets patients in a friendly, service oriented manner in compliance with Care Center (CCC) or Medical Group Practice protocols and workflows.
- Oversees patient check in by ensuring medical records/charts have been pulled, patient data is current, appropriate paperwork is in order, and charts are reviewed/prepared.
- Interviews patient, measures vital signs and records reason for visit.
- Explains procedures, performs treatments, and administers prescribed medication.
- Oversees patient check out by scheduling follow up appointments, collecting co-payment if applicable, ensuring paperwork is complete.
- Schedules and confirms patients appointments.
- Reconciles co-payments at the end of each day.
- Acts as preceptor for orientation and training of new and existing staff.
Requirements:
- Requires H.S. diploma or equivalent and minimum of 2 years of related experience and minimum of 1 year experience as a Medical Assistant II or as an instructor in a Medical Assistant program; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
- Requires an active, current and valid Medical Assistant certification.
- Satisfactory completion of a Tuberculosis test is a requirement for this position.
- Completion of the Carelon Health Academy Preceptor Training Program is a requirement of this position and must be completed within 90 days of employment.
- Phlebotomy background strongly preferred.
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.

Elevance Health operates in a Hybrid Workforce Strategy. Unless specified as primarily virtual by the hiring manager, contractors are required to work at an Elevance Health location at least once per week, and potentially several times per week. Specific requirements and expectations for time onsite will be discussed as part of the hiring process. Candidates must reside within 50 miles or 1-hour commute each way of a relevant Elevance Health location.
