Role Description The Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic is a full-time, on-site role based in Gulf Shores, AL. This position is responsible for performing routine and scheduled maintenance on aircraft airframes and powerplants, including inspections, repairs, and system troubleshooting to ensure safety and regulatory compliance. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, completing corrective actions, documenting all work performed, and coordinating with flight operations and training staff to minimize aircraft downtime. The mechanic will also review maintenance records, support continuous airworthiness, assist with upgrades or modifications, and follow company, FAA, and manufacturer standards for quality and safety.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong PowerPlant skills, including engine inspection, repair, troubleshooting, and adherence to manufacturer maintenance procedures.
  • Candidates should possess solid Aircraft Maintenance skills, covering scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, component replacement, and detailed recordkeeping.
  • Candidates should possess knowledge of Aircraft Systems, such as hydraulic, electrical, fuel, and avionics systems, and be able to diagnose and resolve system issues.
  • Candidates should possess understanding of Airworthiness requirements, including FAA regulations, compliance with maintenance directives, and safety standards.
  • Candidates should possess experience working with Aircraft structures and assemblies, including airframe inspection, corrosion control, and structural repairs.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate or equivalent credential strongly preferred.
  • Experience with general aviation aircraft; Cirrus aircraft experience is highly beneficial.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, maintenance documentation, and regulatory guidance.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and commitment to safety and quality.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with instructors, operations staff, and other maintenance personnel in a fast-paced training environment.
