Requirements
What You’ll Do
- Lead, train, and develop bakery staff through hands-on leadership, coaching, onboarding, and cross-training.
- Plan and manage staffing schedules, labor reporting, and production workflows to meet operational needs.
- Supervise daily bakery production to ensure products meet quality, consistency, presentation, and deadline expectations.
- Monitor inventory, oversee stock rotation, verify deliveries, and support efficient use of supplies, labor, and equipment.
- Research, develop, and refine recipes, production methods, and operational efficiencies.
- Conduct team meetings, daily huddles, coaching conversations, and performance discussions in partnership with HR.
- Maintain and enforce food safety, sanitation, personal hygiene, and workplace safety standards throughout the bakery operation.
- Utilize Microsoft Office and administrative systems to manage scheduling, reporting, and operational documentation.
- Partner with operational leadership on forecasting, budgeting, wholesale account support, and production planning.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with catering, production, and leadership teams to support daily operational success.
- Minimum 5 years of commercial bakery experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of commercial baking techniques, food safety practices, sanitation standards, and bakery production operations.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams in a fast-paced food production environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with inventory or production management software preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Solid math skills related to recipe scaling, measurements, inventory management, and production planning.
- Culinary degree with a concentration in Baking & Pastry Arts preferred.
- Fluent English communication skills (verbal and written) required.
- Current Food Handler Certification and Oregon Food Safety Professional Certification required.
