Training for this position will be Monday through Friday, 8am – 5pm EST, for the first 8-12 weeks. During the first 6 months, employees will be required to train and work in our Richmond, VA office Mondays through Thursdays with Fridays being work from home. After 6 months, employees will work from home most days but will be expected to come into the office one or two days a month (this is subject to change based off business needs). To ensure productivity in a home environment, applicants must meet the space and technology requirements outlined below.
Work at Home Requirements:
- 5Mb connection (upload and download) to the Internet, which will be verified by the Elephant Service Desk.
- Ability to connect issued Elephant computer to their home Internet connection device via a 25’ Ethernet Internet cable. Due to phone use and additional complexity, Elephant does not certify our home work space solution for wireless connectivity.
- Ability to call Elephant Service Desk via another phone than Elephant issue soft phone solution.
- Connection via ethernet cable is required for soft phone-based positions. Support positions may need to have an ethernet cable available to facilitate IT support, if needed.

Compensation:
During training and the initial nesting period of this entry level claims adjusting role we pay a competitive rate of $19.95/hour (~$41,500/year). After graduation from the nesting team pay is increased to rate of $20.44/hour (~$42,500/year).
About our Claims Resolution Specialists:
Claims Resolution Specialists at Elephant provide excellent customer service while assisting customers through the claims process. As a licensed adjuster you will learn to evaluate low complexity auto claims and determine applicable coverage and liability. This fast-paced role allows our adjusters to promptly assist our customers who have been in an accident by quickly resolving the customers claim and closely managing their vehicle repair. This phone-based adjusting role is essential to our customers’ satisfaction and applicants must be passionate about customer service. Job Responsibilities:
- Provide superior customer service
- Obtain adjuster’s license during training
- Assist customers with the initial processing of vehicle claims
- Determine coverage
- Assess liability and notifies each party of liability
- Help customers with questions regarding their claims
- Handle inbound calls/outbound calls
- Investigate automobile insurance claims by doing the following:
- Research previous claims and accidents
- Collect statements from each party
- Request police reports and other evidence if necessary
- Assess automobile damages
- Arrange estimates for repairs
- Arrange payments for repairs
- Manage rental and repair process for customers
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to multi-task, organize, and work efficiently
- Basic math, computer, and typing skills
- Demonstrated communication skills and ability to resolve conflicts
- Attention to detail and analytical skills
- Talent for investigation and research
- Positive attitude and willingness to adapt
- Able to sit at a desk and work on a computer for 8-hour workdays with breaks and lunch time provided
- Ability to be on the phone for 8-hour workdays
- Manual dexterity to type on computer
- Must be a resident of Virginia and live within 50 miles of our Richmond office.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior work from home experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2 – 4 years of customer service or claims experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
