Job Description: Project Manager
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing flooring projects from pre-construction through completion. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of flooring systems (Preferred), excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage crews, subcontractors, vendors, and client relationships simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and manage all phases of residential and/or commercial flooring projects
- Review contracts, specifications, drawings, and scopes of work
- Conduct site walks, field measurements, and pre-installation meetings
- Develop project schedules and ensure milestones are met
- Order materials and coordinate deliveries with suppliers and warehouses
- Manage installation crews and subcontractors; assign work and monitor performance
- Ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications, industry standards, and company quality requirements
- Monitor job costs, track change orders, and control project budgets
- Communicate regularly with clients, general contractors, designers, and internal teams
- Resolve jobsite issues, delays, and conflicts promptly and professionally
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company policies
- Perform final inspections, punch lists, and project closeout documentation
Required Qualifications
- 3 years of project management experience in flooring (Preferred), construction, or a related trade
- Strong knowledge of flooring materials (carpet, LVT, hardwood, tile, laminate, etc.) (Preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contracts
- Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with project management software, spreadsheets, and email
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing both residential and commercial flooring projects
- Knowledge of estimating, takeoffs, and job costing
- Familiarity with OSHA and jobsite safety requirements
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk job sites, climb stairs, and stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
