Network 2&3 - Instructional Lead Teacher - Elementary Mathematics

JOB GOAL:  

To raise the school’s academic achievement of all students through structured, job-embedded support designed to enhance elementary classroom instructional practice.  The incumbent of this position will be assigned to Network 2 and 3 schools.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

This position is Nine and three-fourth (9.50) month contract (200 days), plus a benefits package. NOTE: Precise placement within the salary range will be determined based on experience and LRSD’s salary placement guidelines. FLSA: EXEMPT.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Valid Arkansas teaching certificate for elementary grades (K-6, 1-6, PK-4). 
2. Master’s degree in education, curriculum, instruction, or mathematics preferred. 
3. Preference will be given to candidates with previous successful experience in similar roles. 
4. Three or more years of successful teaching in elementary grades including the use of instructional practices and curriculum required in LRSD. 
5. Prior successful experience(s) in planning and presenting professional development to colleagues or other educators. 
6. Prior successful experience(s) in disaggregating and using student data to guide instructional conversations and collaborations with teachers (individual and groups), as well as school leadership teams. 
7. Evidence of strong oral and written communication skills.

1. Promotes the fidelity of core classroom instruction and reaching the Arkansas standards for mathematics through regular, effective planning, use of district curriculum, adopted resources, proven instructional practices, and assessments. 
2. Utilizes coaching strategies including modeling, guidance, and collaboration/reflection to fully implement LRSD curriculum, instructional design, and materials. 
3. Disaggregates and uses student, school and district data to guide instructional conversations and collaboration with school leadership teams, individual classroom teachers, and groups of teachers. 
4. Assist teachers in utilizing current and upcoming technologies to engage and enhance student learning. 
5. Builds instructional leadership capacity by leading and guiding conversations around the impact of raising the rigor of instruction on the academic achievement of all students. 
6. Plans and delivers professional development at the school and district level. 
7. Attends identified training, implements new learning, and serves as a liaison between the schools and the network leadership. 
8. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Mental Functions, Physical Requirements, and Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, go up and down stairs, operate foot and hand controls, use a telephone and write. Occasionally, the employee must lift and/or move up to twenty (20) or more pounds. This position requires accurate perception of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, handling and working with educational materials and/or objects, and providing oral information. Must have the ability to work for the duration of the daily contracted time period, and to be physically present and at assigned work, with only infrequent unexcused absences, during the contract year. Additional technical skills, knowledge, and abilities may be recommended by the immediate supervisor and approved by the Human Resources Director.
