Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Advanced Electronics and Mechanical Assembly Technician role based in Omaha, NE. The technician will assemble, test, and troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical and fluidic systems used in laboratory and industrial environments, following detailed drawings, schematics, and work instructions. Daily responsibilities include precision mechanical assembly, wiring and harnessing, soldering, fitting and alignment of components, and performing functional tests and inspections to verify performance and quality standards. The role also involves identifying and resolving assembly issues, documenting build and test results, supporting continuous improvement, and collaborating closely with engineering, quality, and production teams. The technician will maintain a safe and organized work area, follow standard operating procedures, and assist with equipment setup, calibration, and preventive maintenance.
Qualifications
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, with experience in Mechanical Engineering concepts and hands-on assembly of precision mechanical or electro-mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and models, including exposure to Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and engineering documentation.
  • Experience with Maintenance of production or laboratory equipment, including troubleshooting, basic repairs, and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Background in Inspection and quality control, including use of measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) and adherence to quality standards and procedures.
  • Automotive or similar mechanical systems experience that demonstrates skill in assembly, diagnostics, and working with complex mechanical and electrical components.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and basic electronic test equipment safely and effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, and ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree, technical certification, or military technical training in electronics, mechatronics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a production or lab environment, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines while maintaining quality.
