The Production Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring the flow of materials and products throughout the full production cycle. This role ensures timely execution of manufacturing work orders to meet internal performance goals, financial objectives, and customer delivery expectations.
The Production Planner works closely with Production Management, Quality Assurance, Shipping & Receiving, Order Management, Customer Service, and Supply Chain teams to align production schedules, manage priorities, and ensure on-time delivery of products.
This position also maintains up-to-date production and shipping schedules, manages changing orders, and expedites materials or work orders as needed. The planner partners with the packing and shipping departments support unique, customer-specific packaging, labeling, and fulfillment requirements.
This is an onsite position, and regular physical presence is essential to effectively coordinate with cross-functional teams and monitor production activities.

Challenge Yourself – The Specifics
- Develops and maintains daily production schedules for multiple product lines based on open sales orders, material availability, and production capacity.
- Communicates proactively with Order Management & Customer Service regarding any schedule changes or potential impacts to customer orders.
- Reviews and validates the accuracy of sales orders prior to releasing them to production and shipping.
- Utilizes the ERP/MRP system to ensure planning accuracy, schedule synchronization, and cross-departmental visibility.
- Monitors manufacturing inventory levels for accuracy and valuation to support planning decisions.
- Generates custom reports, dashboards, and key metrics to track performance and drive continuous process improvement.
- Coordinates and implements schedule changes or adjustments to meet customer requirements and optimize production flow.
- Exercises sound judgment within established procedures and practices to identify opportunities for process efficiency and improvement.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
