Job Title: Lab Technician
Job Description: Element Staffing is recruiting for an experienced Laboratory Technician for a reputable specialty chemical company in Southeast Houston. The Laboratory Technician will support laboratory operations by performing analytical testing on raw materials, production samples, and finished products while working a rotating 12-hour shift schedule. Candidates with previous experience working in industrial laboratories, rotating shift environments, and sample cylinder handling are strongly preferred. Local candidates only.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform analytical testing on raw materials, intermediate products, finished products, and customer samples using established laboratory procedures.
- Perform analytical testing utilizing GC, GC-Headspace, autotitrators, moisture analyzers, wet chemistry techniques, physical testing methods, and other laboratory instrumentation.
- Receive, handle, prepare, and analyze samples, including work involving pressurized sample cylinders and related laboratory equipment.
- Properly document analytical results and maintain accurate laboratory records.
- Assist in the development, revision, and improvement of laboratory SOPs.
- Maintain laboratory databases and enter analytical results for reporting and traceability.
- Perform routine calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation.
- Communicate laboratory results and production issues with Laboratory Management, Operations, and Production personnel.
- Assist with laboratory inventory, chemical stock management, and housekeeping.
- Follow all company HSE policies and laboratory safety procedures.
- Support additional laboratory projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Additional Requirements:
- Previous experience working rotating shifts or other non-traditional schedules is strongly preferred.

- Years of Experience: 2-5 years of analytical laboratory experience
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related science preferred. Candidates must have completed a minimum of 16 semester hours of chemistry coursework
- Shift/Travel: Rotating 12 hour shifts
- Compensation: $28 /hr DOE
- Location: Southeast Houston
