Position: HVAC & plumbing Residential Estimator/Outside Sales
Location: Twin Falls, ID
Shift: Monday – Friday 7am-5pm (hours may vary based on workload and customer needs)
Compensation: $30,000-$40,000 Commissions
Position Type: Full-time
Job Description:
We specialize in HVAC and plumbing retrofits as well as new system installations. The Residential Estimator is responsible for driving new sales in a professional and knowledgeable manner by assessing customer needs, providing tailored HVAC and plumbing solutions, and ensuring customer satisfaction from estimate through project completion. This role includes developing detailed cost estimates and proposals for both heating/cooling systems and plumbing projects such as water heaters, re-pipes, fixture replacements, and system upgrades. The estimator will collaborate closely with the office team, field technicians, and installers to ensure projects are properly scoped, accurately priced, and completed according to plans, codes, and company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to build repeat and referral business.
- Conduct in-home consultations to identify customer needs for HVAC and plumbing solutions.
- Prepare detailed estimates and proposals for HVAC and plumbing systems, including equipment, materials, and labor.
- Collaborate with project managers and installers to ensure all jobs are completed according to plans, specifications, and company standards.
- Provide professional recommendations on products, services, and system options to meet customer goals and budgets.
- Negotiate, close sales, and follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction.
- Track sales activity and maintain accurate records in company systems.
- Assist in developing and executing sales plans that drive customer and market expansion.
- Stay up to date on product knowledge, local building codes, and industry trends for both HVAC and plumbing.
- Other duties as assigned.
What we are looking for:
- 2 years of in-home or outside sales experience.
- HVAC and/or plumbing background strongly preferred.
- Self-motivated and driven with strong follow-through.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Integrity, professionalism, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Ability to climb ladders, walk job sites, and perform light physical tasks as needed.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
