This leadership role involves directing the design for a wide variety of transportation projects, providing guidance and support to junior staff, and reviewing plans and documentation to help ensure ELEMENT maintains our reputation for quality. Depending on your interests and experience, this role can include managing projects or be strictly technical.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as lead technical engineer and/or engineer of record for roadway design projects
- Direct and assist the preparation of roadway plans, calculations, and documentation
- Conduct field reviews
- Perform quality control reviews
- Effectively communicate and coordinate with clients and colleagues
- Train and mentor junior team members
- Support marketing pursuits and business development efforts
Minimum Requirements
- Professional Engineer (PE) registered in FL
- At least five years of post-registration experience
- Experience leading roadway design and production
- Experience reviewing roadway plans and documentation
- Familiarity with current FDOT and AASHTO design standards and criteria
- Quality control experience
- Business development experience
- Excellent technical, written, and oral communication skills
- Strong working knowledge of MicroStation and/or ORD
- Interest in mentoring junior staff
- Commitment to safety
