The Production Field Manager is responsible for leading field production operations from delivery through project completion. This position oversees field crews, subcontractors, quality standards, scheduling, and customer satisfaction while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on time.
This individual serves as the primary link between production, operations, builders, installers, and service teams to quickly resolve field issues and maintain Element's commitment to exceptional quality and customer service.
Essential ResponsibilitiesField Operations
- Manage daily field production activities across multiple communities and job sites.
- Supervise field staff and installation subcontractors.
- Ensure projects remain on schedule while maintaining quality expectations.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and identify potential issues before they become delays.
- Coordinate manpower and resources to meet installation schedules.
- Verify job readiness prior to installation.
Quality Assurance
- Perform quality inspections throughout the installation process.
- Ensure installations meet company standards, builder requirements, and manufacturer specifications.
- Identify deficiencies and develop corrective action plans.
- Monitor completion of punch lists and warranty items.
- Promote continuous improvement throughout field operations.
Scheduling & Coordination
- Coordinate with Operations, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Sales to ensure materials and labor are available.
- Work closely with builders, superintendents, and homeowners to communicate schedules and expectations.
- Assist in resolving scheduling conflicts and field challenges.
- Maintain accurate production status updates.
Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop field employees.
- Hold crews accountable for quality, productivity, safety, and professionalism.
- Conduct performance coaching and provide ongoing training.
- Foster a positive team culture built around accountability and respect.
Customer Service
- Build strong relationships with builders, superintendents, and homeowners.
- Resolve field concerns professionally and promptly.
- Ensure customer issues are documented and communicated to the appropriate departments.
- Represent the company with professionalism at every job site.
Safety
- Promote a safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
- Conduct regular safety observations and address unsafe conditions immediately.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Complete daily reports and production updates.
- Document field issues with photos and detailed notes.
- Track project completion and outstanding work.
- Assist with forecasting labor needs and production capacity.
- Participate in production meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- 5 years of residential construction, cabinet installation, or production management experience.
- Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of residential construction practices.
- Ability to read blueprints and cabinet drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong organizational and communication abilities.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
