Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and results-driven Accountant to join our organization in a key leadership role within the finance function. This position is responsible for overseeing complex accounting and tax operations, ensuring full compliance with federal and state regulations, and delivering high-level financial analysis to support executive decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Independently prepare, review, and finalize complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and S-corporations, ensuring full compliance with IRS, state regulations, and international tax requirements (FBAR, FATCA).
- Provide strategic tax planning and advisory services to optimize client financial outcomes and minimize risk, including guidance on corporate structuring, cross-border taxation, and compliance with international reporting standards.
- Oversee the preparation, review, and finalization of comprehensive financial statements, including Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, and Cash Flow statements, ensuring accuracy, compliance with GAAP, and timely reporting.
- Manage and execute all payroll processes, including calculation and filing of federal and state payroll taxes, ensuring compliance with regulations and corporate policies.
- Lead process optimization and automation initiatives, including implementation of ERP systems (SAP), electronic document flow (EDI), and development of Excel VBA macros to improve efficiency, accuracy, and data migration workflows.
- Directly supervise and mentor junior accounting staff and assistants, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance evaluation; ensure high-quality output and adherence to internal controls.
- Act as primary point of contact for complex client inquiries, audits, and accounting issues, providing expert solutions and recommendations for strategic business decisions.
- Analyze financial performance, monitor cash flow, and implement measures to optimize working capital, reduce losses, and improve cost efficiency across business units.
- Develop, implement, and maintain accounting, tax, procurement, HR, and internal control policies to enhance operational efficiency and ensure regulatory compliance.
Skills
Master’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance Strong knowledge of GAAP and U.S. tax code
Experience preparing tax returns and financial statements (Forms 1040, 1065, 1120, 1120S)
Proficiency in accounting systems: SAP, QuickBooks, Xero, Drake, TaxAct Advanced Excel skills, including development of VBA macros for process automation
Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
Proven experience managing accounting staff and implementing process efficiency initiatives
Experience with electronic document interchange (EDI) systems
Knowledge and compliance with FBAR and FATCA reporting requirements
Ability to manage complex accounting and tax projects independently
At least 10 years of professional accounting experience
Fluency in English and Russian (speaking and writing)
Pay: $146,058.00 - $146,100.00 per year
