Responsibilities
- Operate various sewing machines, including industrial sewing machines and serging equipment, to assemble garments and upholstery items efficiently and accurately.
- Measure fabric materials and finished products using precise measuring instruments to ensure dimensional accuracy and adherence to specifications.
- Execute seam construction, garment sewing, embroidery, and upholstery sewing tasks following detailed work instructions.
- Handle materials safely within the warehouse environment, ensuring proper storage, transportation, and handling of fabrics and finished goods.
- Maintain quality standards throughout the production process by inspecting materials and finished products against established quality criteria.
- Conduct manual cutting of fabrics with precision to prepare pieces for sewing or assembly.
- Follow all safety standards in production areas, including proper machine operation procedures and safety protocols to prevent accidents.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating industrial sewing machines, sergers, or similar equipment in a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, seam construction, and sewing techniques.
- Familiarity with measuring tools and instruments used for dimensional measurements of fabrics and finished products.
- Knowledge of fabric materials, upholstery processes, and sewing machine maintenance is highly desirable.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings or patterns related to garment or upholstery manufacturing.
- Experience with manual cutting (fabric cutting) and handling various fabric materials confidently.
- Commitment to safety standards in production environments with a focus on safe machine operation and materials handling.
