Elefante Music & School for the Performing Arts has been serving students and families in New Jersey for 30 years. Our instrument rental program supports thousands of students each year through schools, private lessons, and performing arts programs. Accuracy, clarity, and care matter here and this role plays a critical part in making that happen.
We’re seeking a Rental Operations Assistant Manager to oversee the daily operations of our instrument rental program spanning across 40 school districts in New Jersey. This role is responsible for ensuring that student rental contracts are accurate, billing runs smoothly, and customer service issues are resolved thoughtfully and efficiently.
The Rental Operations Assistant Manager serves as the primary facilitator for the music and arts programs that Elefante provides. They would serve as the liaison between our operations and school services teams.
What You’ll Do
- Support our rental program by:
- Accurately processing and entering rental requests
- Assigning rental instrument serial numbers & creating new rental contracts
- Handling the processing of rental return requests
- Perform customer service tasks and oversee rental billing by:
- Coordinating rental-related collections and auto-payments
- Contacting customers regarding past-due or outdated payment information
- Lead and support part-time and seasonal rental administration staff as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working with data entry, managing spreadsheets, and customer accounts
- Ability to take ownership and follow tasks through to completion
- Clear communicator that is comfortable making decisions within established guidelines
- Experience with administrative operations, billing, customer accounts, or similar work
- Calm, organized, and solutions-oriented, especially during peak seasons
- Music or education experience a plus, but not required
