Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and test alarm systems, sensors, fire alarms, and access control devices in commercial and residential settings
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on low voltage electrical systems, cabling, and network connections to ensure optimal system performance
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately install and repair complex security infrastructure
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete installations efficiently and safely
- Provide on-site technical support for system design modifications or upgrades based on client needs or evolving security standards
- Maintain detailed service records, inspection reports, and system documentation for each project or service call
- Collaborate with clients to understand their security requirements and recommend appropriate solutions including alarm system sales opportunities
Requirements
- Must Have Experience in GE Concord, DSC NEO, Resideo System.
- Proven experience as a service technician specializing in alarm systems or security technology with a strong background in field service operations
- Solid knowledge of computer networking principles relevant to security systems including remote access software and telecommunication connections
- Mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience related to low voltage wiring, cabling techniques, NEC (National Electrical Code) standards, and power tools operation
- sensors (motion detectors), IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), and lock mechanisms
- Ability to read schematics accurately and interpret technical diagrams for system design or troubleshooting purposes
- Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, security protocols, and alarm system sales strategies is preferred
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the capacity to diagnose issues quickly in diverse environments including construction sites or existing facilities
- Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel locally for on-site installations or repairs
