What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Inspector position at Electronic Manufacturing Services Group?
Inspection of Printed Circuit Board Assemblies:
Inspecting printed circuit board assemblies, the inspector must have a sufficient understanding of electronic components and knowledge of processes associated with the assembly and final assembly of printed circuit board assemblies, and be proficient at IPC-A-610, Class 2 soldering standard. Must be able to recognize common errors, which include insufficient solder, solder bridges or shorts, cold solder joints, and too much solder on through-hole and surface mount assemblies. Must possess above average knowledge to detect backward parts, wrong parts, missing parts, parts lifted, leads bent under, leads shorted, pads damaged, tracks lifted, and/or parts damaged on SMT and through-hole assemblies.
Inspection of all products:
Must be able to read and comprehend drawings, bill of materials and other provided product information in order to assure a quality product was built to customer specifications. The inspection process should be completed in a reasonable amount of time, with minimal to no supervision.
The Inspector may reject defective items outright, send them for repair or correction, or fix minor problems themselves. May need to add labels, serial numbers, markings or tags and will be required to record non-conformance data. When defects are found, inspectors notify the Quality Manager, so that the production problem can be analyzed and corrected.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Job may require standing or sitting. May be asked to assist with work in other departments.
