The Inventory Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring materials flow smoothly through our manufacturing process. This position is responsible for accurately picking and kitting parts for assembly and maintaining inventory control through cycle counting and best practices. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently with accuracy are essential.
Primary Responsibilities
Material Issuance & Kitting
- Accurately issue and deliver materials to departments based on work order requirements.
- Read production schedules, work orders, and requisitions to determine materials needed.
- Pull, check, and verify components against requisitions and work orders.
- Kit and stage materials for production in a timely and organized manner.
Inventory Control
- Perform cycle counts and maintain accurate stock levels.
- Track shortages and request materials from Purchasing when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of all inventory transactions using ERP software.
- Ensure proper labeling, marking, and storage of materials.
Assistance in Receiving
- Unpack, inspect, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders and invoices.
- Check quantities, weights, and identification for accuracy.
- Process parts through ERP after verification.
- Maintain records of received goods, packing slips, and related documentation.
General Responsibilities
- Maintain organized work areas in the stockroom and kitting zones.
- Operate material handling equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts).
- Support Receiving team and other departments as needed.
- Complete additional tasks and projects as assigned.
Key Requirements
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs; frequently lift/carry up to 30 lbs.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, squatting, and reaching required.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
