ECS is seeking a Database Administrator to support database administration and ETL-related activities in a dynamic enterprise environment. This role requires hands-on experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, scripting, and cloud-based database services. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation, experience working across multiple operating systems, and the ability to support mission-critical database systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, support, configure, implement, and upgrade Oracle and PostgreSQL databases
- Work across multiple operating systems, including Linux, RHEL, and Windows
- Perform database backup and recovery activities using tools such as pg_dump, pg_basebackup, PITR, RMAN, and Oracle Data Guard
- Monitor and tune database performance using tools and reports such as AWR, ASH, ADDM, explain plans, and other monitoring utilities
- Support Oracle 19c/21c environments, including cloning, resource management, OEM Grid administration, and implementation
- Manage PostgreSQL schemas, user roles, access control, and security models
- Develop and maintain database scripts using PL/SQL and PL/pgSQL
- Write and maintain shell scripts to automate and improve daily monitoring and administrative tasks
- Support AWS Cloud Services, including CloudWatch, CloudTrail, EC2, and managed database services such as Oracle, Aurora, and PostgreSQL RDS
- Perform database upgrades, patching, storage management, and interface support for external applications and integrated systems
- Assist with broader system maintenance activities, including software patching, performance tuning, and support for COTS products and operating systems

Required Skills
- Active Secret security clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in database administration
- Experience administering Oracle 19c/21c and PostgreSQL databases
- Strong knowledge of SQL, including query writing, optimization, normalization, and indexing
- Experience with database backup, recovery, cloning, and disaster recovery solutions
- Experience with database performance tuning and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with AWS cloud infrastructure and cloud-hosted database services
- Experience with database scripting and shell scripting
Desired Skills
- Experience and familiarity working within Agile Development Teams
- Experience supporting ETL-related database functions
- Knowledge of database storage management and database/application interfacing
- Experience with OEM Grid, Oracle Data Guard, and enterprise monitoring tools
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while supporting secure client systems

Salary : $110,000 - $122,000
