Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Application Engineer specializing in low- and medium-voltage (LV/MV) power distribution components. This role is focused on component-level application engineering, supporting customers with product selection, protection coordination, and system integration.
You will serve as a technical expert, working directly with OEMs, utilities, panel builders, and switchgear manufacturers to ensure proper application of circuit protection and switching components.
This is not a system-level or project-only engineering role. Candidates must have hands-on experience applying individual components such as breakers, vacuum interrupters, and protection devices.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Application Support
- Provide application support for LV/MV components including circuit breakers, vacuum interrupters, contactors, and switchgear devices
- Guide customers on product selection, protection coordination, and proper application design
- Support integration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization of components
Customer & Engineering Collaboration
- Work directly with OEMs, panel builders, utilities, and switchgear engineering teams
- Partner with internal Engineering, Product Management, and Sales teams on product applications
- Support customer qualification, testing, and validation activities
Standards & Compliance
- Interpret and apply industry standards, including:
- UL 489
- UL 508
- IEC 60947
- IEEE C37
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare technical documentation such as application notes, datasheets, and customer reports
- Provide clear technical guidance and recommendations to both internal and external stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 5 years of hands-on experience in power distribution or switchgear applications
- Strong experience with component-level application engineering (not just system design)
- Proven ability to support customer-facing technical discussions
Required Technical Experience
Candidates must have direct, hands-on experience with most of the following:
- MCCB / MCB circuit breakers
- Vacuum interrupters
- LV or MV switchgear components
- Protection coordination and trip curve analysis
- RCD / GFCI breakers
- DC circuit protection devices
- Contactors and thermal overload relays
- ATS systems or switch disconnectors
- Background in electromechanical or power distribution component manufacturing
- Experience working with global standards (UL, IEC, IEEE) in real-world applications
