Overview:
Electro-Methods Inc., a Stronvar Aerospace company, is seeking a skilled CNC Milling Operator for our second shift operations. The CNC Milling Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC milling machines to produce high-precision aerospace components. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality standards in a regulated aerospace environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines to manufacture complex aerospace components per engineering drawings and traveler documentation.
- Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T requirements to ensure accurate machining.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, optical comparators).
- Monitor machining processes, adjusting speeds, feeds, and tool paths as required to maintain dimensional accuracy and quality.
- Perform tool changes, offsets, and minor program edits as needed.
- Complete all required production documentation in compliance with AS9100 and customer requirements.
- Work closely with engineering, quality, and supervisory staff to resolve machining challenges.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while adhering to company safety and environmental policies.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of CNC milling experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and shop documentation.
- Proficiency in the use of precision measuring instruments.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
- Aerospace or other highly regulated industry experience.
- Familiarity with Fanuc or similar CNC controls.
- Experience with multi-axis milling equipment.
- Knowledge of AS9100 standards and lean manufacturing principles.
Work Environment:
- Second shift schedule; overtime and weekend work may be required based on business needs.
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and shop floor activity.
- Standing, bending, and lifting up to 40 lbs. required.
