Overview:
Electro-Methods, a Stronvar Aerospace company, is seeking a Cell Leader (Second Shift) to provide day-to-day leadership and coordination for a team of skilled machinists, operators, and technicians. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Cell Leader ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of aerospace manufacturing processes, aligning daily operations with company standards for precision, compliance, and on-time delivery.
This role balances hands-on technical expertise with people leadership, ensuring that work is performed to AS9100, NADCAP, and customer requirements while supporting workforce development and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Workforce Management
- Direct and supervise daily activities of assigned production team across multiple shifts.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and on-the-job training to support skill growth and employee engagement.
- Monitor attendance, timekeeping, and work assignments to meet production schedules.
- Enforce safety, quality, and compliance standards consistently and fairly.
Operational Execution
- Oversee machine set-ups, workflow, and production priorities to meet customer delivery requirements.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with AS9100, NADCAP, OSHA, and Electro-Methods policies.
- Troubleshoot production issues, coordinate with engineering/quality teams, and escalate as needed.
- Drive first-time yield and on-time delivery metrics.
Continuous Improvement & Communication
- Act as the first line of leadership on the shop floor, facilitating communication between operators and management.
- Participate in daily tier meetings, updating on progress, barriers, and countermeasures.
- Champion Lean and continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce scrap, and enhance safety.
- Provide feedback to management on equipment needs, workforce skills, and resource planning.
Qualifications:
Education & Certifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
- Technical or vocational training in machining, aerospace manufacturing, or related field (preferred).
Experience
- 5 years of experience in aerospace or precision machining environment.
- 2 years in a lead, supervisory, or coordinator role.
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining, GD&T, blueprint reading, and inspection practices.
- Familiarity with AS9100, NADCAP, and aerospace customer quality requirements.
